Stratford, Conn.-based Kitchen Brains, a manufacturer of smart cooking computers, electronic controls and software solutions for commercial foodservice operations, is expanding its U.S. manufacturing facility as it says demand for onshore production has grown.

Reconfiguration of the manufacturing floor is underway now, and additional equipment is expected to be installed by the end of the year. Kitchen Brains also reallocated space formerly occupied by its software engineering team to expand within the current footprint after the team shifted to the recently opened Advanced Technology Center in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Once the expansion is complete, the company says production capacity will increase by more than 40%, allowing it to better serve new and existing customers and provide additional services, including contract manufacturing.

“Increased interest in American-made products, from both our OEM and retail customers, is the driving force behind the expansion of our manufacturing facility. Our new capabilities build upon Kitchen Brains USA2020, a program that saw nearly $2 million invested in advanced manufacturing equipment, including new SMT lines, selective soldering and automatic wire cutting/stripping/crimping,” says Christian Koether, Kitchen Brains CEO, in a press release.

Founded in 1969, Kitchen Brains brands feature a growing number of products that include IoT/cloud connectivity that can be found in QSRs, casual- and fine-dining restaurants, convenience and grocery stores, schools, hospitals, stadiums and other facilities.
