Perkins Griddle & Go Grows in Garden State
The fast-casual concept signs its largest franchise agreement to date in New Jersey.
Perkins Griddle & Go continues to gain ground after its launch in September. This week, the fast-casual concept announced it signed its largest franchise agreement to date. The deal in Monmouth County, N.J., includes 10 restaurants. The first unit will open by October 2025.
Perkins American Food Co., formerly Perkins Restaurant & Bakery, launched Perkins Griddle & Go to meet the needs of fast-paced consumers. It has a compact footprint, spanning about 1,500 to 2,000 square feet, and seats 65. It uses digital menus and self-order kiosks for those guests who want a quick meal but also offers a cafe-style dining space for those with more time.
Lisa Dalton and Anthony Degrande, a mother-son duo, will own and operate the new locations. “The smaller, more efficient footprint allows us to adapt to today’s market needs,” Degrande says in the release.
Peter Ortiz, chief development officer of Ascent Hospitality Management, which oversees Perkins American Food Co., says, “Our expansion in New Jersey marks an important chapter for Perkins Griddle & Go. We are excited to introduce new guests to the evolving Perkins brand and bring our rich heritage, innovative offerings, and commitment to excellence to new guests across the state.”
Other recent growth highlights for Perkins Griddle & Go includes November’s opening of its first unit in Canada and last month’s entry into Texas. It has nearly 30 total signed agreements.
