Polar King Int’l., a manufacturer of walk-in refrigeration and freezer units, has tapped industry veteran Kevin Wilson as director of engineering, research and development and refrigeration.

Wilson brings more than 37 years of cold storage expertise to the role. He recently spent four years as the North America managing director of Tecumseh Products Co.’s condensing unit division. Before then, he spent a decade with Everidge as vice president of sales, managing the international cold storage business. He was also vice president of operations at Master-Bilt and plant manager at Carrier.

In his new role with Polar King Int’l., Wilson will direct quality control, assist in new product and business development and work with managers to improve labor and production efficiency.

“The Polar King family is thrilled to welcome Kevin aboard. His background, management skills and proven capability in advancing cold storage technology make him an ideal fit,” says Dave Schenkel, president, in a press release. “We are confident Kevin will play a significant role in promoting growth, introducing substantial product breakthroughs and driving our business forward.”

Wilson, who holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial technology and education from Western Illinois University, says his short-term focus will be reducing lead times due to ongoing supply chain issues.
