Publisher’s Note: Out and About

Randy Hano Headshot

Talk about a busy few weeks as the team at FER hit the road and kicked off conference season with a bang. A top stop was MUFES, FER’s Multiunit Foodservice Equipment Symposium, in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. The event was jam-packed with strong speakers, great learnings and a little bit of fun as well. A big thank you to our exceptional group of speakers and sponsors, one of our biggest groups of operators in recent years and the hard-working team at FER. Missed MUFES 2024? Check out the recap here, and save the date for MUFES 2025, scheduled for Jan. 27-29, 2025!

Just before MUFES was the MAFSI Conference in Palm Springs, Calif. There, we found another strong program with great conversations. It was my first MAFSI conference and I highly recommend you consider attending if your business touches the manufacturers’ rep community. FER Associate Publisher Rich Chrampanis and I had many terrific conversations, and appreciate all of your support and friendship.

Quality programs and meaningful connections abound at recent industry events.

Finally, we attended the NAFEM Annual Meeting & Management Workshop in Savannah, Ga. It’s always great to reconnect with old friends and make new ones as well. It was another very strong program and congratulations go out to Rich Packer of American Metalcraft for all he has accomplished the past two years as president of NAFEM, and to Steve Spittle of Middleby on being newly installed as president for the 2024-2026 term. Congratulations, too, to Eva-Marie Fox of T&S Brass and Greg Baggott of Cres Cor who took on the roles of vice president and secretary/treasurer, respectively.

Missed us at any of these events? Want to learn more about what all the buzz is about? Give me a call; we’re here to help.

I look forward to seeing you all soon!
