In Memoriam: Bill Wickert, of Specialty Equipment Sales Co.

MAFSI has announced that William L. “Bill” Wickert, a respected member of the foodservice industry, passed away on October 24. He was 75.

Wickert called Cincinnati his home for 40 years. He began working in the restaurant industry at a young age, building a career that would span decades.

After managing restaurant chains, he joined the then-fledgling Specialty Equipment Sales Co. as a sales manager. During his more than 30 years with the company, Wickert managed multiple territories, supervised sales representatives and eventually became president, a position he held for more than a dozen years.

MAFSI says Wickert was a devoted member and a friend to many. “He generously shared his time and experience, engaging colleagues in thoughtful conversations about the finer details of how we sell and serve our customers,” MAFSI says. “His commitment to the profession extended beyond his own business, and his friendship, insight, and contributions will be deeply missed throughout the MAFSI community.”

Wickert was preceded in death by his loving wife, Judith. He is survived by his children, Carolyn (Chane Williamson), Jessica Wickert, W. Michael (Nancy) Wickert, W. Matthew (Jodie) Wickert, and Adam (Emily) Wickert, and five grandchildren.
