Krystal, Victor Cruz Officially Touch Down in New Jersey
With nearly 300 units across 13 states, the latest opening marks the beginning of Krystal’s push into the Northeast.
Krystal has made its Northeast debut, opening its first New Jersey store in Union on June 4.
The store, opened in partnership with former New York Giants player Victor Cruz, will provide over 65 jobs. A grand opening celebration is set for June 17.
The location will offer the brand’s signature sliders and sides, as well as an exclusive lineup developed in partnership with Cruz. Highlights include Cruz Sauce (a sofrito mayo), the Taylor Pork Roll Slider, Tres Leches Glaze Bombs and a Tres Leches milkshake, Yuca fries, a Cruz Blue milkshake, and breakfast offerings like fish and grits.
“North Jersey raised me, and that means something,” Cruz says in a release. “People here have high standards for food, for authenticity, for places that actually feel like part of the neighborhood. That’s why I’ve been involved from day one, right down to helping craft menu items made exclusively for this location. This community deserves something built with them in mind, and that’s exactly what we did.”
Amanda Hyde, chief operating officer of Krystal, adds, “Opening our first restaurant in New Jersey is a major milestone for Krystal and an important next step for the brand. Krystal has always had fans beyond the South, and now we’re proud to introduce the full experience to the Northeastern community. Victor has been an incredible partner throughout this process because he understands this market personally and brings passion and authenticity to this opening.”
