The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill Gains Ground Globally
The fast-casual inked a master franchise agreement that brings it to Guyana and seven Caribbean countries.
The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill is collaborating with the Beharry Group—also a multiunit KFC and Pizza Hut franchisee—in a master franchise agreement. The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill is the Beharry Group’s first foray into the fast-casual space.
The deal will establish the brand’s presence in Guyana (where Beharry Group maintains its headquarters) and seven countries throughout the Caribbean, including Antigua, Bahamas, Barbados, the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Suriname, and Trinidad and Tobago.
“I had the pleasure of trying The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill while on a trip to South Florida and immediately fell in love with the brand,” says Suresh Beharry, CEO of Berharry Group. “After years of operating quick-service concepts, we saw an opportunity to diversify our portfolio with a fast-casual brand that brings something different to the Caribbean market. Mediterranean cuisine is increasingly popular around the world, and we believe that same demand exists across Guyana and the wider Caribbean. The Great Greek allows us to tap into a clear gap in the market while introducing a dining experience that blends high-quality food with the speed and convenience today’s guests expect.”
The deal’s first unit is set to open later this year in Georgetown, Guyana’s capital and largest city.
