Konala Adds 25 Units to Development Pipeline
More broadly, the chain has 40 franchise units signed across five states and is projected to end the year with nearly 50 units in development.
Protein bowl chain Konala is growing its presence in Idaho, adding 15 units in the Boise area, plus 10 in Northern Utah.
Franchise group Speedy Foods is Konala’s partner in the deal.
“This concept checks every box for where the industry is heading,” says a Speedy Foods statement. “Konala’s model is simple to operate, scalable and delivers the kind of healthy, high-protein meals customers are actively seeking. We believe Konala has the potential to become the next major player in the drive-thru category, and we’re excited to help lead its growth across Utah and Idaho.”
Earlier this month, the chain opened its first unit in New Jersey. The brand initially started franchising a little over a year ago, in September 2024, and has worked to strengthen its infrastructure since. The brand says its signing of Citadel Development—the national developer behind 7 Brew, Torchy’s and Smalls Sliders—to lead due diligence, design, and full project management across its pipeline marks one of its most significant moves.
The company also has added corporate roles including a chief of staff, a marketing manager and multiple corporate trainers.
