The individual, who’s been with the company since 2011, most recently served as its chief accounting officer.
Brittany Cerwin has been appointed as chief financial officer of Middleby, effective immediately.
In 2023, Cerwin took her most recent position of chief accounting officer, where she worked closely with the executive leadership team, overseeing and directing the financial reporting functions across all Middleby business units. Before that, she was corporate controller. Prior to Middleby, Cerwin was with Grant Thornton, LLP, Chicago. She holds both a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in accounting from Bradley University in Peoria, Ill.
“Brittany has led the development of our global finance organization as it exists today, supporting our rapid growth as revenues increased threefold and earnings grew five times during her tenure,” says Middleby CEO Tim FitzGerald. “As part of the executive team since 2023, her deep knowledge of our business and broad financial acumen has been key to the successful execution of our companywide financial strategies and ongoing growth initiatives.”
She succeeds Bryan Mittelman, CFO since 2019. Mittelman, meanwhile, will transition to the role of special advisor to the CEO. He will focus on executing the previously announced spin-off of Middleby’s food processing business, which is expected by the end of the second quarter of 2026.
