Shaquille O’Neal’s concept Big Chicken has officially opened its first two restaurants in Central America. The openings in San Pedro Sula and La Ceiba this month mark the brand’s launch in Honduras.

Multiunit franchisee and entrepreneur Thomas Talarico, CEO and partner of BLT UK Holdings, will lead Big Chicken’s development in Honduras. Talarico and his team also have their sights on Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala and Panama.

Big Chicken’s menu in Honduras will feature the concept’s typical lineup as well as rotating LTOs inspired by Honduran tastes.

“We didn’t just simply open two new restaurants; we brought our larger-than-life personality to a completely new part of the world,” says Josh Halpern, CEO of Big Chicken, in the release.

Big Chicken has more than 40 locations open and dozens more in development across North America, Central America and beyond. Its partners include Craveworthy Brands, JRS Hospitality and Authentic Brands Group.
