ServSafe Achieves Its Five Millionth Certification

The National Restaurant Association announced in July that it has issued five million ServSafe certifications. The nearly 40-year-old program is the No. 1 food-safety training program for foodservice operation managers and staff in the U.S. and abroad.

It was an employee of the world’s largest restaurant chain that scored the honor. Richard Bryan, an employee of McDonald’s franchisee Baine Enterprises, earned his ServSafe Manager certification in Augusta, Ga.

The Association launched ServSafe 6th Edition this spring with optimized, recalibrated and focused content, including the latest FDA Food Code updates, created by the industry, for the industry. The latest edition is based on a new job-task analysis developed exclusively by restaurant operators across segments, academic bodies and regulatory experts for real-life situations.

The NRA’s ServSafe portfolio includes ServSafe Manager, ServSafe Food Handler and ServSafe Alcohol.
