BK Is On A Roll, Literally

Burger King Worldwide just reported a strong finish to 2012 and progress on key strategic initiatives. The Miami-based chain’s fourth-quarter results include full-year data, and revealed that in 2012, BKW grew comparable sales 3.2% and added 485 net new restaurants, for nearly 4% unit growth. Additionally, it refranchised 871 restaurants, bringing it to a 97% franchised system, and accelerated international growth, with five master-franchise joint ventures and seven new development agreements.

In the midst of its largest-ever menu update in North America, BKW also re-imaged approximately 600 restaurants in the U.S. and Canada. Nearly 20% of its stores now reflect the chain’s modern image.
