Del Taco Strengthens Leadership Team

Del Taco has made four executive appointments. Two company veterans have been promoted: John Druse, named as v.p.-design and construction, and Mike Lucero, appointed v.p.-franchise development and real estate. Eric Grundmeier joins the Lake Forest, Calif., chain as v.p.-supply chain and quality assurance. He held a similar post at Qdoba Restaurant Corp. David Wetzel has been named v.p.-franchise operations.

The Lake Forest, Calif., chain has been growing its brand in the Southwest, particularly in Texas. Earlier this month, the chain opened the first of 25 locations planned for San Antonio; the remaining two dozen stores will be a combination of company-owned and franchised restaurants. Del Taco has more than 550 restaurants in 18 states.
