Middleby Marshall Marks 125 Years Of Oven Manufacturing

Middleby Marshall is celebrating a landmark year in the foodservice E&S business: 125 years as an oven manufacturer. Among the honors the company has received on its anniversary is an honorary street sign, “Middleby Way,” displayed on Toastmaster Drive by its headquarters in Elgin, Ill. It is only the third such honorary street sign in the city of 109,000, and the first time a local business has ever received the recognition.

Middleby Marshall Group President Mark Sieron and other Middleby employees attended the unveiling ceremony and official proclamation by Mayor David Kaptain.

The Middleby Marshall Oven Company was founded in 1888 when Joseph Middleby and John Marshall teamed up to produce custom-designed movable ovens. Today, the company supplies ovens to chains, including Domino’s and Papa John’s, and exports the majority of its ovens. Among its significant milestones are awards from chain customers, including Domino’s and Pizza Hut; earlier this year, Middleby’s WOW!2 Oven was named a 2013 Kitchen Innovations Award winner.

“Middleby Marshall has customer loyalty that extends back several decades,” Sieron said. “We will continue to produce the best quality ovens in the restaurant industry while pushing forward with innovative technologies that save our customers time, money and energy.”

Middleby Marshall is a division of The Middleby Corp.
