Middleby Expands In India: Acquires Celfrost, Names New Group President

The Middleby Corp. has acquired the commercial refrigeration and foodservice products business of Celfrost Innovations Pvt. Ltd., a Gurgaon, India-based firm with $20 million in annual sales. The Celfrost business was acquired by Middleby’s newly established entity in India, Middleby Commercial Food Innovations Pvt. Ltd.

Celfrost manufactures foodservice equipment including refrigerators, ice machines, freezers and walk-ins; it has 15 brand centers that will support Middleby’s entire family of companies in India.

Partha Biswas, newly named group president of Middleby India, will run business operations there. His responsibilities encompass overseeing multiple operations, including sales and service of all Middleby brands in India, including Celfrost. Biswas also will manage the recently established shared service engineering team there. Prior to his promotion, Biswas was group president of Star brands; earlier in his career, he helmed Carter-Hoffmann, Nu-Vu, Doyon and CookTek.
