Hoshizaki Buys Brazilian Foodservice Equipment Maker

In a move to broaden its reach as a global supplier, Hoshizaki America has announced its acquisition of a Brazilian foodservice equipment manufacturer. The Peachtree City, Ga., company has purchased Acos Macom Industria E Commercio Ltda. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Macom, based in Sao Paolo, manufactures refrigeration and cooking equipment and stainless fabrication. The 41-year-old company has been named a vendor of the year by McDonald’s Corp. and Outback in South America.

Macom will be part of Hoshizaki Holdings USA, a wholly owned subsidiary of Japan-based Hoshizaki Electric. It becomes Hoshizaki’s 52nd group company.
