Ali Group Acquires Rancilio Group, Italian Coffee Equipment Maker

Ali Group has purchased Rancilio Group, a family-owned coffee-equipment manufacturer. Giorgio Rancilio will continue as the 86-year-old company’s CEO. The Milan-based company manufactures both semi- and fully-automatic machines; the latter is marketed under the Egro brand, a Swiss manufacturer it acquired in 2008. In addition to Italy and Switzerland, Rancilio has offices in Germany, Portugal, Spain and the U.S., and a sales presence in more than 100 countries.

In a statement, Ali Group Chairman/CEO Luciano Berti said, “This acquisition further strengthens our position and visibility in the foodservice equipment market and adds a new dimension and another business segment to our brand portfolio.”

Ali Group, based in Milan, owns more than 70 foodservice equipment and food processing companies.
