Taco Bell unveiled its new U.S. Taco concept in Texas earlier this year, and for its full-scale debut in the U.K. last month, the chain has reimaged its own brand.
The new Sheffield, England, store’s open-kitchen design concept, with customers watching their meals made to order from locally sourced ingredients, might seem familiar but is new to Taco Bell. Also new is the chain’s emphasis on being a social hub: Free Wi-Fi and mobile charging stations are installed for nearby university students. The reimaged Taco Bell is the first of its kind, and if successful, will serve as the template for future stores throughout Europe.
Prior to the Sheffield store, Taco Bell’s U.K. footprint was confined to three food courts.
