David Herring has been named president of Unified Brands. The appointment, effective Nov. 17, was made by Bill Johnson, president/CEO of UB’s parent company, Dover Corp., to whom Herring will directly report.
Herring joins the company from Avery Dennison Corp., where he spent 14 years, most recently as v.p./g.m. for the general retail and industrial solutions business units. There he held responsibilities over a trio of divisions operating in all major global regions and encompassing Avery Dennison’s foodservice segment, which supplies food date coding, food-rotation labeling machines and food safety labels. Prior to his time with Avery, Herring spent 12 years with Emerson Inc. in marketing, operations and engineering.
Herring succeeds Bill Strenglis, who previously had announced his pending retirement. Strenglis will remain with Unified Brands through year-end to assist with the transition.
Unified Brands, along with its Groen, Randell, Avtec, A la Cart and Power Soak brands, is headquartered in Atlanta and has operations in Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri and Oklahoma.
