Fazoli’s Joins Sentinel’s Chain Portfolio

Sun Capital Partners has sold Fazoli’s, the Lexington, Ky.-based fast-casual chain, to Sentinel Capital Partners. Fazoli’s has 213 units; 124 are company-owned. Fazoli’s, founded in 1998, had been owned by Sun Capital since 2006, when it had 319 units. Sentinel, which acquired Checkers Drive-In Restaurants, Newk’s Eatery and TGI Fridays last year, counts more than 2,300 total units and systemwide sales of nearly $4 billion among its brands. Sentinel also owns Huddle House, and has investments in several large-scale franchisees
