Manitowoc Sets Global Strategy, Appoints Dei Dolori As Senior V.P./Managing Director-EMEA

Manitowoc Foodservice has named Philip Dei Dolori to the role of Senior V.P. and Managing Director-EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa).

Dei Dolori is now responsible for all sales, operations and profit/loss functions in the region, where he’ll focus on driving growth, developing new products and establishing strong customer relationships. He reports directly to Chief Operating Officer Josef Matosevic and will be part of the executive leadership team led by President/CEO Hubertus Muehlhaeuser.

Dei Dolori, who will be based at Manitowoc Foodservice’s facility in Eglfing, Germany, has sales and operating experience in more than 50 countries; he’s lived in the U.S., Mexico, South Africa, France and Italy and speaks English, Spanish, French and Italian.

During his career at Manitowoc Foodservice, he served as executive v.p. in a variety of areas including EMEA, the Americas and Global Products. Under Enodis, which was acquired by Manitowoc Foodservice in 2008, he was group managing director with dual responsibility for Asia Pacific and European operations and sales. He also held positions as group president at Middleby and president of Vulcan Hart/ITW.

In other news, citing next year’s spinoff of Manitowoc Foodservice, parent The Manitowoc Co. announced some strategic initiatives to address production overcapacity that includes shuttering its plant in Cleveland and shifting production to other locations.

“As part of our ongoing global manufacturing strategy, we intend to close our Cleveland facility, which produces a range of market-leading products, including steamers, conveyor ovens and mini-combination ovens,” said Muehlhaeuser, who also serves as a senior v.p. of The Manitowoc Co. “These efforts are essential as we continue preparations for the eventual spin-off of the company’s Foodservice business in the first quarter of 2016. This decision was also driven by the need to improve our operational efficiencies, while also meeting the demands of our customers and enabling us to compete more effectively on a global basis.”

The company’s Irwindale, Calif., distribution warehouse also is expected to close.

Manitowoc Foodservice brands include Cleveland, Convotherm, Delfield, Fabristeel, Frymaster, Garland, Kolpak, Koolaire, Kysor Panel Systems, Lincoln, Manitowoc Ice, Multiplex, Merrychef, Servend and Manitowoc Beverage Systems. The company is headquartered in New Port Richey, Fla.
