SEFA Honors Dealers, Suppliers And Its Founders At 30th Annual Meeting

The Supply and Equipment Foodservice Alliance celebrated its 30th anniversary at its annual meeting April 10-15 at the Ritz-Carlton Resort & Spa in Kapalua, Maui, Hawaii. In addition to the usual supplier and dealer awards, the group honored its founders, Tedde and Jim Reid.

During the buying and marketing group’s annual awards banquet, SEFA’s 63 dealer members presented the Reids with a custom Michael Cheval painting featuring 63 dancing birds, representing the “dance of SEFA.” Supplier members honored the couple with a bronze statue and contributions to the charity of their choosing.

Receiving this year’s Supplier of the Year Award was the Vollrath Co. Sheboygan, Wis. Dealer Member of the Year was Jetro Holdings/Restaurant Depot, College Point, N.Y.  The group named John Nackley, CEO-InterMetro Industries, Wilkes-Barre, Pa., as Executive of the Year. Nackley is the first two-time winner of the award.

Other suppliers receiving Outstanding Supplier Awards included Hatco Corp. (light equipment); Garland Commercial Ranges/Manitowoc Foodservice (cooking equipment); John Boos & Co. (specialty equipment); True Mfg. (refrigeration equipment); Advance Tabco (fabrication); and American Panel (walk-ins). Blodgett/Middleby Corp. won a Market Leader Award for innovation.

Food Equipment,  Athens, Ga.; Oswalt Restaurant Supply, Oklahoma City; W.West Equipment and Furnishings, Denver; Penn Jersey Paper Co., Penn Jersey Paper, Philadelphia; Premier Restaurant Equipment, Minneapolis; Supreme Hotel & Restaurant Supplies, Miami; Grady’s Foodservice Equipment & Supplies, Pueblo, Colo.; Best Restaurant Equipment & Design, Columbus, Ohio; Great Lakes Hotel Supply, Detroit; Smith & Greene, Kent, Wash.; Instawares Holding, Kennesaw, Ga.; Action Sales, Monterey Park, Calif.; Johnson-Lancaster Associates, Clearwater, Fla.;  and C&T Design & Equipment, Indianapolis.    

Cedric Stinson of Vulcan/ITW Food Equipment Group received the Trainer of the Year Award. Ray Herrick, executive v.p. of  FEDA, was honored with an Icon of the Industry award.
