PRIDE Unveils New CEO

PRIDE Marketing and Procurement, the dealer/shareholder-owned buying group, has appointed Karin Sugarman as its new Chief Executive Officer. Sugarman started her career in the foodservice equipment industry with PRIDE in 1992, eventually becoming executive v.p. until her departure in 2012. She expanded her experience in the industry while working on special projects for Scotsman Industries and, since 2013, serving as vice president and CFO for Ice-O-Matic.

Demetre Selevredes II, the Denver-based buying group’s president and interim CEO, stated, “No one is better suited to lead PRIDE than Karin. She intimately knows the inner workings of PRIDE, appreciates the support and patience of its suppliers, and has a tremendous respect for the united resolve of its shareholders.”

Sugarman asserts, “We are scrutinizing every aspect of our business model to key in on the practices that made PRIDE a leader in the industry and focusing our attention on where it needs to be—our stakeholders.”
