Collins Foods Has Appetite For Expansion

Now that Collins Foods is the largest KFC franchisee in Australia, the Brisbane, Queensland, company is focused on expanding its quick-service restaurant operations across the country. Collins earned top franchisee title after its acquisition of 13 KFC stores, a deal which raised it to a total of 191 KFC locations across Australia.

Chairman Robert Kaye told shareholders that the group will continue to pursue growth opportunities this year after forking out US$25.5 million on the 13 KFC restaurants in New South Wales and Victoria in May.

The group’s Sizzler chain, which has recently been culled to 22 outlets, is a non-core part of the business, and the company has announced there will be with no further growth capital allocated to the steak chain.

Collins Foods recently acquired the remaining 50% of the six-unit Snag Stand quick-serve sausage chain that it did not already own, and plans to expand the business.
