Imperial Brown Names VP Sales & Marketing

Steve Bert has been named Vice President-Sales and Marketing for Imperial Brown, the Portland, Ore., maker of walk-in coolers and freezers.

Bert brings 23 years of business-to-business experience to Imperial Brown, with an emphasis on working in an environment of multiple manufacturing plants. He spent more than 10 years in sales in the metals distribution business in Houston, and 13 years working for a manufacturer in the QSR industry, most recently as v.p.-sales and marketing

“Bert has a holistic view of the manufacturing business, and he understands the importance of balance and teamwork among all branches of the company, with a focus on GP generation,” says Justin Sandall, president of Imperial Brown. “He is an obvious choice to lead IB's sales and grow its chain business. He understands the metal industry, he understands manufacturing, and his experience and relationships complement Imperial Brown perfectly.

Imperial Mfg. was founded in Portland in 1970 to produce the insulated panels used to build walk-in coolers and freezers. In 2012, the company acquired W.A. Brown & Son of Salisbury, N.C., to form Imperial Brown. Earlier this year, the company acquired Artic Temp of Prague, Okla.
