Everything a technician needs to know about electric, gas and steam equipment can be had at the Commercial Food Equipment Service Association’s upcoming EGS Training course. The Nov. 15-20 class at the Edison Customer Technology Application Center in Irwindale, Calif., covers the basic elements of gas, electric and steam for repairing and troubleshooting commercial foodservice equipment. The six-day course will target a broad range of expertise, addressing entry-level to advanced needs. To qualify, technicians must be familiar with electric, gas and steam theory and must have basic mechanical aptitude along with 6 months to 3 years experience in the foodservice industry. Registration is open until Nov. 1; cost is $550 per technician for CFESA members and $1100 per technician for non-CFESA members. Forms and info at
