Ali Group Announces Leadership Moves

Ali Group has announced five executive appointments, effective September 1. Highlights include the following:

• Ali Group has promoted Rob August to the role of chief commercial officer for Ali Group and Welbilt globally. August joined the Ali Group in 2006 as executive vice president of Champion Industries. He has held a variety of executive positions since then, including vice president of business development and senior vice president for Ali Group North America; and executive vice president of Ali Group and Welbilt. In this position, August will oversee the Ali Group and Welbilt’s global commercial strategy, drive growth across company brands and strengthen customer and channel relationships.
• Welbilt has tapped Scott Cherevaty as group president at Welbilt, while he continues in his current role as president of the Champion Group (Champion Industries, Moyer Diebel Limited and Bi-Line Systems). In his expanded capacity, Cherevaty also will work with the leadership of the American Dish Service and Edlund brands to drive synergies across the group. He joined the organization in 2004 as national sales manager for Champion Industries and has served as the president of the Champion Group since 2023.
• Also at Welbilt, Korey Brownlee, currently the general manager of Beverage-Air and Victory, has assumed the role of president of the two companies. Brownlee joined the group in 2018 as a senior buyer for Beverage-Air and Victory, and has held several leadership roles with the company before being named general manager in 2025.

Ali Group North America and Welbilt, both Ali Group companies, have made the following financial leadership changes:

• Giuseppe Scavello now serves as vice president of finance operations for Ali Group North America. In his new role, Scavello will continue to oversee the financial and reporting processes, providing guidance and support to all the Ali Group North America companies. He joined the Ali Group in 2015 and has held several key roles in the group’s finance organization and transitioned to Ali Group North America in 2022.
• Justin Mooney has been promoted to the position of CFO of Scotsman Group LLC. He joined Ali Group North America as corporate controller in 2016 and has held various positions within the group, most recently senior director finance operations for Ali Group North America.

Welbilt announced last month a handful of other leadership changes.
