Centre Partners is once again the owner of Captain D's Seafood.

Centre Partners is taking Captain D’s Seafood back. The private equity firm announced that it has acquired the chain—again.

The firm previously bought Captain D’s in 2013 from Sun Capital Partners before selling it to Sentinel Capital Partners in 2017. At the time, the Nashville, Tenn.-based chain had 530 units, and it maintains over 500 stores today.

“We are excited to have the opportunity to partner with (Captain D’s CEO) Phil Greifeld and this experienced executive team once again. With its differentiated menu of craveable seafood, Captain D’s provides a unique value proposition to its customers. We look forward to supporting Phil and the team as they seek to significantly expand the business,” says Bruce Pollack, managing partner of Centre Partners, in a press release.

Greifeld says the brand is looking to expand its geographic footprint and continue to improve the customer experience with new menu offerings and streamlined digital, drive-thru and delivery options.

With offices in New York and Los Angeles, Center Partners focuses on the consumer and healthcare sectors.
