Jersey Mike’s Plans 400 Stores in UK, Ireland
Franchisee Peter Cancro, who also serves as the brand’s founder and chairman, will oversee the European expansion.
Jersey Mike’s Subs has signed a deal that will bring 400 restaurants to the United Kingdom and Ireland. It signed the deal with JM Submarines UK LTD, which is led by Jersey Mike’s founder and Chairman of the Board Peter Cancro. The first location will open in 2026.
“We could not ask for a better partner than Peter to lead this market expansion,” says Charlie Morrison, CEO at Jersey Mike’s, in the release. “Peter built this brand from the ground up, from our first location on the Jersey Shore to over 3,000 locations across North America during his time as CEO.”
Cancro, who transitioned to chairman in 2025, says, “To now have the opportunity to bring Jersey Mike’s to the UK and Ireland as a franchisee is incredibly exciting.”
Jersey Mike’s has more than 3,200 locations in the U.S. and Canada. In early 2025, the brand joined Blackstone’s portfolio, then appointed Morrison to CEO, Stacy Peterson to president and COO, and Andy Skehan to president of international.
