Stratford, Conn.-based Kitchen Brains, a manufacturer of connected kitchen controls, has acquired Micro Control Systems and its related company Sensing Technologies—both based in Fort Myers, Fla.

MCS designs and manufactures advanced controllers, sensors and compressors for commercial and industrial HVAC/R markets, while STI develops high-performance precision sensors for HVAC/R and other industrial applications.

The acquisition expands Kitchen Brains’ addressable market beyond foodservice into industrial control segments, plus creates opportunities for cross-selling, shared manufacturing capabilities and deeper engineering collaboration, says the announcement.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
