Karin Sugarman, president and CEO of PRIDE Centric Resources, has announced she will retire from the dealer-owned buying cooperative. She will maintain her role until the organization’s board of directors completes a comprehensive leadership review, the release says.

Sugarman has served PRIDE for a collective 28 years. “I have had the honor of working with, and for, an amazing group of people over the past three decades,” she says. “The strong team we have at PRIDE will continue to serve our community, and I am excited about what these leaders will accomplish in the future.”

Jeff Atkinson, chair of PRIDE’s board of directors, says Sugarman’s “unique perspective and skills helped bring PRIDE through a turbulent time to its current stability.” He adds that the board appreciates Sugarman’s offer to stay on as CEO to maintain operations and to assist with the transition, and that they’ve been working on the process for over a year.

Sugarman plans to take a step back to spend time with her husband, Paul, and son, Nicholas. She also will devote more time to civic and charitable activities, which she says have taken a back seat since she rejoined PRIDE in 2016.

PRIDE comprises over 90 foodservice equipment and supplies businesses nationwide.
