SPB Hospitality, an operator of 16 concepts including J. Alexander’s and Logan’s Roadhouse, promoted Chef Ian Dodson to senior vice president of culinary and beverage.

In this role, Dodson, a graduate of Salisbury College’s culinary school in Wiltshire, England, will oversee culinary and beverage excellence at all SPB Hospitality concepts.

Dodson started his career as a kitchen coach with J. Alexander’s 29 years ago. He later was promoted to head coach before becoming regional director and then serving as vice president of culinary operations, his most recent position.

“I’m excited to be a part of this dynamic new team we are putting together and look forward to working across this incredible collection of brands,” says Dodson in a press release. “Menu innovation is at the core of each of our brands, giving each concept a unique approach while leveraging their collective scale.”

SPB Hospitality’s portfolio includes hundreds of restaurants and breweries in 35 states. Last year, the company acquired J. Alexander’s Holdings, a collection of 47 boutique restaurants including J. Alexander’s, Redlands Grill, Overland Park Grill, Stoney River and Merus Grill.
