Starbucks, Mercedes-Benz Open First EV Charging Hub

A West Coast Starbucks store now offers an EV station, complete with chargers open to all EV brands.

Starbucks announced today, Nov. 25, that it has teamed with Mercedes-Benz High-Power Charging to open their first electric vehicle charging hub, located off Interstate 5 in Red Bluff, Calif.

“Charge your EV at lightning-fast speeds (up to 400 kW, adding as much as 300 miles in about 10 minutes) while enjoying everything you love about Starbucks,” Starbucks states in the post. “Our chargers are open to all EV brands, with every stall equipped with both NACS and CCS cables. So, no matter what you drive, you’re welcome to plug in.”

Starbucks stated in 2024 that its partnership with Mercedes would lead to EV charging stations at as many as 100 stores on the West Coast, with hopes to expand the effort. Bojangles serves as another brand adding the amenity.
