Top Tech Throwdown Region 1 Winners Named

Master CFESA-certified technicians from Commercial Appliance Service and General Parts Group are set to advance.

CFESA’s Top Tech Throwdown carried on in February, with Region 1 service technicians facing off in Downey, Calif.

Winners were Dave Lunsford, of Commercial Appliance Service, on the hot side and Geoff Settle, of General Parts Group, on the cold side. Runner-ups, meanwhile, were Dan Bailes, of General Parts Group, on the hot side and Ron Brown, of Commercial Appliance Service, on the cold side.

Region 4 was the first to compete in the new 2026 event. There, Tim George, of ATech, won on the cold side and David Imrie, of Whaley Foodservice, won on the hot side.

Each region’s champions will later face off in the national championship at CFESA’s headquarters in Fort Mill, S.C. For more on the competition, or to register, click here.
