Dallas-based Wingstop has named Craig Sherwood senior vice president of U.S. development as it looks to scale its domestic footprint from over 1,600 stores to 4,000.

Sherwood joins the wing chain from Little Caesars, where he most recently served as vice president of U.S. development. There, he oversaw domestic franchise development, real estate and construction. His resume also includes development-focused positions with Sonic Drive-In and Yum Brands.

In his new role with Wingstop, Sherwood will lead U.S. franchise development.

“We have a great deal of white space across the country, and Craig’s leadership and experience of domestic franchised development make him an incredible asset for our brand,” says Michael Skipworth, Wingstop president and CEO, in a press release.

Founded in 1994, Wingstop has 1,858 locations worldwide.
