Henny Penny Wins Kudos In Dubai, Oak Brook; A Nod To Vito, Too

Henny Penny Corp. is reporting a couple of honors. In January, the Eaton, Ohio-based manufacturer was awarded McDonald’s 2010 Worldwide Equipment Partnership of the Year Award at the chain’s Equipment Supplier Summit. Henny Penny attributes the award to its LVE Series 200 fryer, designed specifically for the chain’s high-volume production. In 2008, the manufacturer won McDonald’s Innovation Award; last year, it was named the chain’s Worldwide Equipment Supplier of the Year.

“Our partnership with McDonald’s is greatly valued and we are sincerely honored to have this recognition,” said Henny Penny Pres. Rob Connell. “This award is a true testament to the innovative thinking running throughout our organization at all levels. It has been a pleasure to work with McDonald’s for more than 30 years and we look forward to helping them continue as the global QSR leader.”

In February, Henny Penny also received the Best New Foodservice Innovation Award at Gulfood’s 2011 show in Dubai. The award for the single-well Evolution Elite fryer is the company’s second consecutive Gulfood honor.

Gulfood, first established in 1987, is the Middle East’s equivalent of the NRA Show. More than 62,000 visitors from 150 countries attended the Feb. 27-March 2 exhibition at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. The Gulfood Awards are organized by the Dubai World Trade Centre in association with UK-based FoodBev Media; judges evaluated more than 150 entries from 23 countries in 16 different categories. Also winning kudos at Gulfood was Germany’s SYS Systemfiltration; its Vito oil filter system was chosen as the Best Equipment Innovation 2011.
