FEDA Introduces New Officers, Honors Motes

Kent Motes, founder of AutoQuotes Inc., Jacksonville, Fla., has received the President’s Dealer-based Distribution Award from the Foodservice Equipment Distributors Association. Outgoing FEDA Pres. Kimberley Gill Rimsza of TriMark Gill Marketing, Phoenix, presented the award at FEDA’s 2011 Convention in Phoenix in late March. She also passed the presidential reins to Stephen McGarry, president of Paramount Restaurant Supply, Warren, R.I., and assumed a new post as FEDA’s chairman of the board. Rounding out the new FEDA officer slate and executive committee are V.P. Brad Wasserstrom, The Wasserstrom Co., Columbus, Ohio; Brad Pierce, Restaurant Equipment World, Orlando, Fla., treasurer; and Joe Schmitt, Rapids Wholesale Equipment, Marion, Iowa, secretary.

Five FEDA members were elected to the board of directors: Darren Anderson, PrimeSource Foodservice Equipment, Dallas; Brent Gulbas, National Restaurant Supply, Phoenix; Carl Gustafson, Ace Mart Restaurant Supply, San Antonio; Marty Monnat, Strategic Equipment and Supply Co., Irvine, Texas; and Jay Ringelheim, Globe Equipment Co., Bridgeport, Conn. They join second-term board members Jim Bedard, Buffalo Hotel Supply Co., Amherst, N.Y.; Jerry Hyman, TriMark USA, South Attleboro, Mass.; Jack Lewis, Mission Restaurant Supply Co., San Antonio; and Paul Parr, Hockenbergs Equipment & Supply Co., Omaha, Neb.

Five outgoing board members were honored for their service: Mason Greene, Hotel & Restaurant Supply, Jackson, Miss.; Paul Gustafson, Ace Mart Restaurant Supply, San Antonio; Howard Margulies, United Restaurant Equipment Co. Raleigh, N.C.; Garrett Mullen, Smith & Greene Co., Kent, Wash.; and Joe Schmitt, Rapids Wholesale Equipment (now secretary). Greene and Schmitt are 2012 convention chairs, and are already at work planning next year’s convention, March 28 to April 1 in Tucson, Ariz.
