ALI GROUP NAMES BABBONI PRESIDENT AT VICTORY

Three appointments have been announced at Ali Group/North America companies. Richard Babboni has been appointed president of Victory Refrigeration. He succeeds Peter MacFarland. Babboni was general manager for Ali Group’s COF Refrigeration division in Lucca, Italy, for four years in the 1990s. He was most recently working on the foodservice industry’s operations side as president of a Florida fast-casual concept. Babboni will report to Filippo Berti, president of Ali Group/North America. He will be assisted at Victory by Mitch Cohen, who has been promoted to the post of exec. v.p. Victory is headquartered in Cherry Hill, N.J.

In addition to the changes at Victory, Ali has named John Babila as exec. v.p.-sales and marketing at Carpigiani USA. Babila, whose most recent role was in the same post at ISA, has also held that title for E&S companies including Electrolux Professional in North America and Middleby Corp. He will remain based in his Jupiter, Fla., office, and will report directly to Berti.

Carpigiani USA is based in Winston-Salem, N.C., and manufactures frozen dessert equipment, including gelato, ice-cream, soft-serve, pastry, shakes, slush, hot chocolate and display and storage equipment.
