McGarry Steps Down From FEDA Post, Hanson Takes Reins

Stephen McGarry, who took on the presidency of the Foodservice Equipment Distributors Association last month, will be retiring as president of Paramount Restaurant Supply, Warren, R.I., in June and will also step down from his FEDA post on May 31. Until then, McGarry will continue as an active member of the FEDA executive committee. The committee recently met and voted to ask Jim Hanson, a FEDA past-president, to fill the FEDA presidency until elections are held in March 2012. Hanson, president of Best Restaurant Equipment & Design, Columbus, Ohio, accepted the post. “Jim was very gracious to step up; he’s a great volunteer,” FEDA Exec. V.P. Ray Herrick told FER Fortnightly.

Next March, all current officers will move up one position and FEDA V.P. Brad Wasserstrom of The Wasserstrom Co., Columbus, Ohio, will assume the FEDA presidency. The association will continue its two-year officer rotation cycle in even years.
