THREE MANUFACTURERS RECEIVE CHAIN AWARDS

Three chains toasted the work of three equipment manufacturers at June suppliers’ awards events.

Henny Penny Corp., along with two of Unified Brands’ four divisions–Avtec and Randell–were honored with Yum! Brands Star Awards. Henny Penny received KFC’s 2010 U.S. Supplier of the Year, which honored the company for its development of the AHC-993 Holding Cabinet used by KFC for its chicken.

The 2010 Pizza Hut Equipment Supplier of the Year Star Awards recognized Avtec for outstanding energy efficiency in fryer and oven hoods. Randell received kudos from Pizza Hut’s R&D Group for its pizza make-table solution for the chain’s smaller footprint restaurants. Yum! uses a Supplier Tracking, Assessment and Recognition system for supplier evaluation and tracking; its engineers were the chief determiners for the award recipient.

Randell also received honors from another pizza chain. The company was presented with the 2010 Teamwork Award at Domino’s Supply Partner Summit. Last year, Randell, which has worked with Domino’s for more than a decade, developed a refrigerated make-table and warranty program that helped the chain grow its international business.
