NAFEM-ASTM SUSTAINABILITY CALCULATOR IS AVAILABLE

Head to NAFEM’s website and check out the Sustainability Calculator, developed by NAFEM in partnership with ASTM International. The calculator uses an Excel spreadsheet to define a standard method for foodservice equipment manufacturers and other suppliers to measure and report the environmental impact of products. It identifies specific environmental factors, awards points to the corresponding factors and calculates a total score. In addition, it helps clarify environmental-impact factors, allows product comparisons and provides data that may be used to prepare LEED submittals. The calculator is a companion tool to NAFEM’s Life Cycle/Total Cost of Ownership Model, available for free on the website.
