Legacy Acquires Warewashing Pioneer Blakeslee

The Legacy Cos., the Fort Lauderdale, Fla., manufacturer, exporter and importer of foodservice equipment, retail appliances and kitchen utensils, has acquired Blakeslee, the Chicago-based commercial warewashing and preparation equipment manufacturer. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Blakeslee was founded in 1880. In announcing the acquisition, Legacy CEO Neal Asbury said, “Blakeslee’s long legacy says a lot about the pride in the quality of the equipment it sells to foodservice operators.”

Legacy has four product lines, offering products ranging from refrigeration to blenders to ice cream scoops: General Slicing, Maxximum, Omega Products and Zeroll Co., and exports to more than 100 countries. The group also includes Greenfield World Trade.
