Einstein Eyes Pacific Northwest, Buys Oregon Chain

Einstein Noah Restaurant Group has acquired Kettleman Bagel Co., a five-store chain operating in the Portland, Ore., area.

Lakewood, Colo.-based Einstein operates more than 750 restaurants in 39 states under the Einstein Bros. Bagels, Noah’s New York Bagels, and Manhattan Bagel brands. Kettleman locations will be rebranded as Einstein Bros. or Noah’s stores.

The acquisition is part of Einstein Noah’s strategic growth plan aimed at strengthening its competitive position within the Pacific Northwest market.
