Match This: 20 AccuTemp Employees Ace CFSP Exam

The old joke goes, how do you get to Carnegie Hall? Practice, practice, practice. In this industry, how does a company’s employees achieve a 75% first-time pass rate on the Foodservice Equipment Industry Certification exam required for Certified Foodservice Professional designation?  Commit to a group effort and study, review, repeat.

Last month, AccuTemp Products announced that 20 of the 27 employees who took the exam required for the North American Association of Food Equipment Manufacturers’ CFSP designation passed on their first attempt. That 75% pass rate, 30% higher than average, included a dozen test takers who scored above the 90th percentile on the exam. The majority of AccuTemp’s executive, sales, service and engineering staff participated in a five-month study and review program leading up to the CFSP exam, which was administered last November in the company’s hometown of Fort Wayne, Ind.

Among those earning the CFSP designation were Scott Swogger, pres./CEO, and Chef John Pennington, senior v.p.-sales & marketing. An awards ceremony was held at AccuTemp headquarters Feb. 10.
