Wendy’s Re-Imaging Is Making The Sale

Wendy’s is reporting an average sales increase of more than 25% in its new "Image Activation" units.  The modern, sleek units feature lounge seating with fireplaces, flat-screen TVs, Wi-Fi and digital menuboards.

The Columbus, Ohio, chain anticipates completing 75 re-imaged restaurants by the end of the year. It initiated the program in 2011, and will accelerate the pace of rebuilds and remodels in ‘13 and ‘14. Wendy’s plans to re-image 50% of its company-operated outlets by the end of ’15; it’s providing incentives of up to $10 million to franchisees to re-image their restaurants next year. The ongoing brand transformation will extend to Wendy’s new logo, which will roll out systemwide in March ’13.

Wendy’s has more than 6,500 franchise and company stores in the U.S. and 27 countries and U.S. territories worldwide.
