Gear Up For The2012 Economic Census

Get out your pencils. It’s time for the 2012 Economic Census. Every five years, the U.S. government conducts this survey mapping the American business landscape. The data collected can help business owners compare their business and community to others; assist them in identifying new business markets; and prove useful in business plans and loan applications. The information is available for free on the U.S. Census Bureau website.

Census forms will be mailed through December and must be completed by Feb. 12, 2013. Business owners are asked to provide a range of operational and performance data for their companies. Businesses are required by law to complete the survey; data submitted are confidential and used only after input is blended.
