Ace Mart Announces 2012 Gus Award Honoree

Ace Mart Restaurant Supply has named employee Bud Herrmann as recipient of its second annual Gus Award. Hermann received the award at a presentation ceremony during the annual Kitchen Equipment & New Technology Expo in Flower Mound, Texas. The show’s sponsors, Forbes, Hever & Wallace, a rep firm and longtime business associate of Ace Mart, also underwrites a $1,000 award split between the award recipient and the “Norm and Fran Gustafson St. Philips Culinary Scholarship” program created in Gus’s memory.

The award was originated by Gustafson’s children, Norma, Paul and Carl, as a tribute to their late father, who purchased the San Antonio dealership in 1975. He died in 2009. The recipient must reflect attributes including honest and straightforward business and personal relationships, generosity of time and resources, readiness to offer a word of encouragement, and commitment to hard work and devotion to the success of Ace Mart.

Ace Mart operates 14 restaurant equipment and supply superstores in San Antonio, Houston, Austin and Dallas/ Ft Worth.
