What The NAFEM Show Does

We’ve been very busy the past three months getting ready for The NAFEM Show Feb. 7-9. We produced three big issues for December, January and February, featuring our redesign of the magazine. We re-launched our new digital edition. We produced special product editions in print and, as you saw earlier this week, electronically. And not least, we, and especially Christine Palmer, have been hectically preparing for our new Industry Award event at the Peabody Hotel Feb. 8. We’re pleased we’ll see so many of you there to honor Bargreen Ellingson, Mobile Fixture, Jim Hanson and Brad Pierce, plus thirteen other organizations and individuals from all industry categories. Next week, we actually get to go to the show.

Why all the work? It’s simply because The NAFEM Show is the biggest thing in our little world every two years. No other venue brings together operators from all segments, dealers, consultants of all kinds, service agents and international visitors in an exclusively equipment and supplies environment in quite the same way. The show’s attendance is a mirror of our own circulation.

Many of you not only attend, but bring important customers. That’s just the way it’s supposed to work. It’s all about interaction.

But it’s important to remember the show does something else that is crucial to this industry: It creates the financial wherewithal to support scores of educational activities and opportunities throughout the industry. From the Certified Food Service Professional program to a myriad of industry association educational activities, the money generated by the show greases the wheels.

So as you head to Orlando and look forward to seeing all your friends, remember you are also helping support the foodservice and equipment business in many ways. We look forward to seeing you.

Cheers,
