CRFA Rolls Out New Name And Logo

The Canadian Restaurant and Foodservices Association, our northern neighbor’s national organization for owners and operators of restaurants, bars, caterers and other foodservice businesses, has unveiled a new name and tagline—Restaurants Canada: The voice of foodservice. The change will be rolled out over the next year, along with a new logo and website; all are part of a strategic rebranding effort that began nearly 18 months ago to increase the association’s impact with the Canadian government and other stakeholders.

Restaurants Canada Pres./CEO Garth Whyte said the name change reflects the association’s strategic vision and focus on its 30,000 members. He noted that Restaurants Canada is celebrating its 70th anniversary in 2014. “Our new name and new look are part of a larger strategic plan that puts the focus on members first, through leadership, voice and knowledge,” Whyte stated.

“Just like the industry we represent, we recognize that our association must evolve in order to attract and serve our members,” said Susan Senecal, board chair of Restaurants Canada. “Our new brand builds on the past and moves us forward into a new era of service to our members.”

This week’s annual CRFA Show in Toronto provided the industry its first look at the new Restaurants Canada. A contest is being held to rename the CRFA Show for 2015, with a grand prize of a trip for two to the Riviera Maya, Mexico. Details are at crfashow.ca.
