Unified Brands has become part of parent company Dover Corp.’s newly created Refrigeration and Food Equipment segment. It joins five other companies, all focused on the supermarket, food processing and packaging industries.
The new segment structure will enable Dover to focus on its key markets and leverage its scale, according to Dover Pres./CEO Robert Livingston. The segment had full-year 2013 revenues of approximately $1.9 billion.
“Dover’s commitment to creating this newly formed segment supports our growth initiatives within North America and emerging foodservice end-markets,” stated Bill Strenglis, president of Unified Brands.
Late last year, Unified Brands announced it would move its corporate headquarters from Jackson, Miss., to Atlanta. Its new centralized headquarters, which will include its product culinary and training academy, will share space with Hillphoenix, a maker of refrigerated display products and storage systems for the supermarket industry, and another of the companies in Dover’s new Refrigeration and Food Equipment segment.
In other news, Unified Brands has added John Davis as its new v.p.-marketing and product management. Davis, who will report to Strenglis, will help set the vision for Unified’s demand-creation strategy and oversee the marketing and product management disciplines in support of its product line portfolio: Groen, Randell, Avtec, A la Cart and Power Soak.
Prior to joining Unified, Davis’ tenure in the E&S industry has included management positions in design engineering, marketing and business development.
